Transition into Ministry Program
An initiative of Lilly Endowment coordinated by FTE, the Transition into Ministry Program is designed to nurture new pastors and foster in them the leadership habits and practices that will enrich and deepen congregational life. FTE coordinates these grants programs by:
- Facilitating collaborative relationships among grantee programs through periodic gatherings and other communication resources designed to strengthen individual projects as well as the program as a whole;
- Helping project directors with program evaluation;
- Providing progress reports and sharing of key learnings
The Transition into Ministry Program has awarded more than 30 grants for congregation-based residency programs and institution-based programs. This program does not accept new grant applications. For more information on the programs that have been funded in this program, feel free to contact directly any one of the programs listed below.
These congregations offer two-year residency programs for recent seminary graduates. For program and application information for individual programs, contact the congregation directly.
Congregation-Based Programs
These institutions and denominational agencies offer programs and research projects (national and regional) for new pastors in transition from seminary to congregational life and ministry. For details, contact the project directors.
