The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) has appointed Dr. Patrick Reyes as the director of strategic partnerships for doctoral initiatives. He is responsible for managing the fellowship program for doctoral students, relationship building and providing support to leaders of theological institutions developing future leaders for the church and academy.

Three accomplished leaders in ministry, theological education and religious scholarship have joined the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) Board of Trustees. Elected by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), Rev. Drs. Elizabeth Conde-Frazier, Jesse Miranda and Frank Yamada began serving as trustees effective January 1, 2016.

Twenty students have been selected to receive a 2015 Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) Fellowship for Doctoral Students. FTE supports rising theological educators from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups who are committed to teaching in religion, theology or biblical studies in North American theological schools and universities. In North American theological schools, less than 20 percent of faculties are people of color.

Today the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE), in partnership with Chalice Press, releases Ferguson & Faith: Sparking Leadership & Awakening Community by Dr. Leah Gunning Francis. As one of the Englewood Review’s top 25 books to watch out for in the second half of 2015, Ferguson & Faith releases days before the August 9 anniversary of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri.

NCFDD provides professional development, mentoring and networking to help graduate students, postdoctoral students and faculty thrive in their scholarship and teaching.

Chalice Press and the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) announce the publication of the first book in their partnership, focused on the faith-rooted justice work in Ferguson, Missouri, following the tragic shooting death of Michael Brown. The book is scheduled to be released in July 2015, in time for the one-year anniversary of the event that sparked the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

Today The Fund for Theological Education (FTE) announced that it has changed its name to Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE). The name change retains the acronym “FTE,” builds on the organization’s legacy and reflects the evolution of its work. In addition to its name change, FTE also launched a new website at fteleaders.org.
