What is Project Rising Sun?
Project Rising Sun, an initiative of the Fund for Theological Education, is a leadership program for 20 gifted young pastoral leaders with a particular focus on African-American and Hispanic pastors. These young ministers are:
- typically under the age of 40
- seminary trained
- serving churches, in this inaugural class, between Atlanta, GA and Wilmington, NC
PRS is a two-year intensive program that utilizes peer learning, leadership retreats, collective action, idea exchange, informal mentoring and professional coaching. Participants take advantage of these resources to develop skills for collaborative leadership, building strong congregations and for developing viable community partnerships. The inaugural class is full and we will not be taking applications for the next class until 2011. See PRS Fact Sheet at the bottom of this page for more information.
